Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine (Captain of ADKR) has been appointed as the captain of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the 6-team ILT20 League, which will commence on January 13, 2023. West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine has been named captain of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for the inaugural International League T20 (ILT20).

Narine, who played cricket, international and franchise competitions all over the world, said he believed that UAE is a great place to play cricket.

Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard has been named captain of MI Emirates, the team owned by the owners of Mumbai Indians in the ILT20

Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder, has been named as the captain of Sharjah Warriors for the inaugural edition of the International League T20, set to begin in January.

JAMES VINCE

James Vince Veteran batter has 300 games in T20 format and will join Heitmeyer and Jordan in team James Vince feels it is a great honour to lead the Gulf Giants.

Colin Munro

Colin Munro Colin Munro: Desert Vipers Captain 2023. The team will now be led by Colin Munro, who has been given the role of captain. The company that owns the franchise is called Lancer.

The inaugural ILT20 to be played in a 34-match format comprising over 100+ International players and 24 UAE-based domestic players, includes Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (Knight Riders Group), Desert Vipers (Lancer Capital), Dubai Capitals (GMR), Gulf Giants (Adani Sportsline), MI Emirates (Reliance Industries), and Sharjah Warriors (Capri Global).

Commenting on the team-structure, Mubashshir Usmani, Emirates Cricket’s General Secretary said: “It’s exciting to see how well the squads are shaping up for the first season of ILT20. Each team will consist of 18 players including 4 UAE players and 2 other players from ICC Associate countries. The quality of the names announced today is outstanding and so is the interest in our league from top players from all around the world.”

“We are very excited that a select number of UAE representative-players, from our current pool, will also be considered and signed-on to participate in the League, it is also extremely important to note that these (UAE) players will form part of the team’s playing XI.”

International League T20: The Emirates Cricket Board will conduct the inaugural International League T20 from January 6 to February 12, 2023, with three IPL franchises owning outfits in the six-team league.

The sixteam franchise-style League will be played over a 34-match schedule at world-renowned, world-class venues in UAE.

The much-anticipated UAE T20 league, featuring 6 teams from some of the renowned franchise owners in cricket, has been named International League T20. The inaugural edition of the league will be played from January 6 to February 12.

“The six-team franchise-style League will be played over a 34-match schedule at world-renowned, world-class venues of UAE. The first event is scheduled to be played between the window of 6th January and 12th February 2023,” the Emirates Cricket Board said in a statement.

The ILT20 is certainly going to attract big names as Reliance Strategic Business Ventures, a subsidiary of the owners of Mumbai Indians, the Knight Riders, the owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders, the GMR group, who co-own Delhi Capitals, Capri Global, Lancer Capital, owners of Manchester United Premier League club, and Adani Sportsline are set to own a team each.

Zee has bagged global media rights contract with UAE T20 cricketing league. UAE’s T20 League today announced the signing of a long-term global media rights’ contract with Zee. The league will air exclusively on Zee’s linear channels as well as its OTT platform Zee5 across the world.

UAE T20 League matches will air across Zee’s 10 linear channels in the HSM (Hindi Speaking Markets), South and East regions in English, Hindi, and Tamil languages. The League will also be simultaneously streamed Live on Zee5, and on radio globally.

ILT20 Venues: The six-team franchise-style ILT20 League will be played over a 34-match schedule at the world-renowned and world-class venues of UAE. The new League will be called “International League T20” or “ILT20”.
